It's with great pleasure that I present my latest range...

PHOTO POPS!

I am so proud of these, they make me feel warm and fuzzy inside (and not just because my son is on one of the samples). I thought to myself, hmmm... edible rice paper? Well, I was already using it for my Shrek features and my suitcases (which will now all have printed luggage stickers and will look infinitely cooler!) and I just thought that eating your children would be sweet. Or anyone for that matter. Suitable for so many occasions, birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, and well, even wakes if that's what floats your boat. And I have *always* wanted an edible-ink printer. I couldn't tell you why, it's just one of those things I've always coveted. My friend Tracey will know what I mean - I knew I'd found a kindred spirit in her when she told me about her longing for one too. And now I have an excuse - WOOHOO!

And the best thing about them? They're so flexible - I can make logos, advertisements, or anything into pops, and they look really effective. Such a fabulous way to truly personalise your event, or make your products stand out. You'll be remembered at a wedding fair if your beautiful photos are given as samples for people to take home and appreciate with a cup of tea! And, unlike icing sheets like the photo cakes at Sainsburys used to be, rice paper doesn't really taste of anything and just melts away when you eat it.

I've shared a few of the samples I created below- including some for Jack FM Hertfordshire which I thought were really rather cute!

Maybe my photo pops aren't for you. Not a problem. Perhaps you like cutesy animal pops more? Well, how about these pandas?

And the latest addition to the Cake Pop Princess family - MONKEYS! Because let's face it - all of know someone with a little monkey or two!

Happy weekend!

Spring has sprung - woohoo!

A few days of sun and I'm beaming like a Cheshire cat! There are daffodils, crocuses (crosi?) and all sorts springing up in our garden and it's lovely to have a bit of colour back after a very cold and snowy Winter!

This week I've been working on some varied bits and pieces - butterflies and flowers, and reworking some of my originals - the Dalek and Tardis pops.

First up, the butterflies. I've never really been happy with the first butterflies I made. They just didn't look, well, cutesy enough to me.

Here is what my first efforts looked like. So the pink one isn't too bad, but I really didn't love the red one:

This week I had a request for purple butterflies, so it was a chance to rework them. I only found my stride a few butterflies in - now I know what I like and I think I'll be repeating it in future!

I also tried my hand at flowers for Mothers Day, and was pretty pleased with the results. I can't really take full credit for these as the original idea was Bakerella's. I have put my own little spin onto them with different centres and the use of green sticks but essentially they're the same. Couldn't resist trying them though - they were just too sweet! I will be experimenting with more flowers in the coming weeks as I'd love to have something truly original.

And now for my Dr Who cake pops. These are all my own work and whilst I do think they're better than before (the gold finish is better on my dalek now I've stopped using the spray, for instance) I think my Tardis could still be better. It's straighter, bigger, and whilst I did personalise these for a client who was turning 32 this week, I think they're getting there. I do have something planned for future Tardis which might just be the icing on the cake (or the candy melt on the cake pop) but we'll have to see!

Here are the originals followed by the new ones - can you spot the difference?

And finally, some more number pops. I'd only had orders for numbers with holes in this part week - they'd all been 1s, 2s ,3s, & 7s thus far! My first numbers didn't quiet look right - the 4s weren't too bad as the stick didn't have to go through the hole with them, but the 0s and 8s were a different story. After a bit of experimentation, I finally came up with the idea of sticking holes to them and think they worked quite well:

Well, that's pretty much it from my little cake poppery this week. Have you been up to anything fun? Do tell!

A grovelling apology with a dollop of self-pity

My goodness - have been so busy popping that I've completely neglected the blog for almost two weeks! Terribly sorry, won't happen again!

Am dosed up on painkillers at the moment after dropping something from a great height onto my big toe. It hurts A LOT. And standing up popping for hours on end really isn't doing me any favours. But enough feeling sorry for myself, I know you're only really here for one thing and that's my latest creations.

Well, I redid the Star Wars cake pops (now with Stormtrooper and Princess Leia):

I made some lovely boy-themed number pops, in baby blue:

and bright blue:

Some Disney Princess pops:

And finally, some Timmys!

So there you have it. Everything you've missed! Hope you're not too mad at me for neglecting you. Friends again?
